John is co-founder of Eliminate Poverty NOW and has focused his "second career" on creating economic opportunity in the developing world. Prior to EPN, John spent 26 years in business, including 16 years as president of divisions of Kraft Foods and Warner-Lambert. John has a BA and MBA from Harvard University.
Judy Craig
Co-Founder and Treasurer
Judy is a co-founder of Eliminate Poverty NOW. Along with her husband, John, EPN has allowed her to live out her passion for helping poor women achieve greater earnings potential. Judy has a BA from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Helen Greenberg
Director of Operations
Helen is the Director of Operations at Eliminate Poverty NOW, with responsibility for overseeing the internal workings of the organization. Working for EPN has offered her the extraordinary opportunity to visit Africa, meet amazing people, and help end extreme poverty in Africa.
Sam Falk
Information Technology Consultant
After a January 2018 trip to Africa, Sam realized that he could make a difference for EPN with social media fundraising and information technology consulting. Sam runs EPN's Little Rock Scholars University Scholarship program and consults on anything related to information technology. Sam has a BA from Haverford and a business degree from MIT Sloan.
Pete Ondeng
Founder and Director of Centre for Leadership Development
Pete is multi-talented: an author, television personality, leadership coach and thought leader on sustainable economic development. In addition to his 30 years of experience with a wide range of public and private organizations, Pete is the Founder and Director of the Nairobi-based Centre for Leadership Development.
Rustom Masalawala
Director of Business Development, Millennium Promise
We have known Rustom for many years and worked closely with him in his role as Director of Business Development for the Millennium Villages Project. Rustom combines a technical background in computer science with 30 years of experience in corporate and non-profit organizations. His work with developing economies spans Africa and South Asia.
Yitzchak Abt
Founder and Director Emiritus of MASHAV’s International Agricultural Training Center
Yitzchak founded the International Agricultural Training Center at MASHAV (Israel’s Center for International Agricultural Development) and served as its director for 30 years. Over his remarkable career Yitzchak has overseen the implementation of hundreds of projects and training for tens of thousands of people from Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
Hamani Djibo
Founder and President of LIBO
Hamani Djibo is the founder and president of LIBO, a Niger-based NGO enhancing education and economic opportunity for the extreme poor in Niger. Hamani has a deep understanding of local needs and excellent relationships with local education and government officials. LIBO has led the local implementation of the Farmers of the Future program and creation of the Dov Center.
Lilly Oyare
Founder and Director of Little Rock Inclusive Early Childhood Development Centre
Lilly Oyare is founder and director of the Little Rock Inclusive Early Childhood Development Centre, located in Kibera, Kenya’s largest slum. Little Rock has become a source of hope and opportunity for over a thousand students and their families. Amidst horrendous living conditions, Lilly is raising a new generation to believe that with hard work, determination and faith anything is possible.
Father Godfrey Nzamujo
Founder and Director of the Songhai Centre
Father Godfrey is founder and director of the Songhai Centre, one of Africa’s premier agricultural technical schools. Songhai’s mission is to create agricultural entrepreneurs. Now with over a dozen campuses in West Africa, Father Godfrey is well on his way to realizing his vision to make “agriculture a weapon of mass construction!”
Peter Wentworth
Board Member Vice President
Peter Wentworth brings over 30 years of diverse, global business experience to EPN. Peter is President of Wentworth Associates, LLC. which provides organizational consulting and interim HR executive services to various public and private equity-backed companies. He is also Past President and Board Member Emeritus of Morris Habitat for Humanity. Peter received his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Wayne State University.
Elizabeth Craig
Board Member Secretary
Elizabeth Craig, PhD, is a daughter of John and Judy and shares their passion for EPN's mission, particularly empowering women. Liz is the Director of Seabird Science at the University of New Hampshire’s Shoals Marine Laboratory.
Patsy Lightbown
Board Member
Patsy is a Distinguished Professor Emerita of Concordia University, Montreal. Her book, How Languages Are Learned, is considered foundational in language teacher education programs around the world.
Patsy and her husband, Tom, have lived and worked in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. They began their married lives together as Peace Corps volunteers to Niger, are equally comfortable in French and English, and have significant experience introducing innovative teaching methods to teachers in French-speaking West Africa.
Tom Lightbown

Tom’s management consulting career spanned 40 years, specializing in strategy and organization at KPMG, ISO Healthcare Consulting, and Sanofi Pasteur. A graduate of Hamilton College, Yale University, and Columbia University, Tom is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Canada.
